Confusing Identity
Saw this little chap/ chapess that I thought was a female Blackbird rooting around under my hedge. Managed to take the first photo and then it truned round. To say I was surprized with what I saw is an under-statement. It was a Song Thrush as can be seen in phote two. It continued to root under the hedge looking for insects etc. A couple of times it flew onto the side of the hedge as if catching something. Photo three was taken just before if flew off. This is the first Song Thrush that has visited my garden for some time. Last time was during the summer when a female brought two chicks for a flying visit. Before that it was many years ago. Hope this is a sign that they have returned.
