Blue Tits

Blue Tits are one of my favourite birds. They are colourful, agile, usually full of beans and never a dull moment when they are around. Last year, a couple of parents brought their four young to the feeders at the back of the house. Initially the chicks lined up to be fed by the parents and then ventured onto the feeders which they adapted to very quickly. The chicks still had some fluffy down and didn't look as if they should be out the nest. This is a photo of the latest Blue Tit that came to my Garden two days ago. Unfortunately it was taken through double glazing so there is a slight haze from the reflection of the blind/curtains. I am working on how to eliminate this. If you have any ideas, please post a comment.

Hi Jake,

I find it is better when the sun is not shining to take pictures through the window, but we do not want to waste opportunities to take pictures by waiting for dull weather :-)

I too find it's better in duller weather for photos. My window faces east so it's a real problem for me in the morning trying to stop reflections. I cover the tripod legs with a black cloth but I think I might end up with a victorian style hood or black curtains!

I have to take nearly all my photo's through the patio window Jake, and I get really disappionted when I download them, they look quite good in the camera but once on the computer the glare is so difficult to clean up, we must keep taking them though!!
